Cleaning is the process of removing unwanted substances, such as dirt, dust, and other impurities, from an object or environment.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite web</ref><ref name=":1">Template:Cite web</ref> Cleaning is often performed for aesthetic,<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> hygienic, functional, safety, or environmental protection purposes.
