Georges Leygues (Template:IPA; 29 October 1856<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> – 2 September 1933) was a French politician of the Third Republic. He held several key ministerial positions, including Minister of the Colonies, Minister of the Interior, Minister of the Navy (Marine), and ultimately served as President of the Council (Prime Minister) from 1920 to 1921. During his time as Minister of Marine he worked with the navy's chief of staff Henri Salaun in unsuccessful attempts to gain naval re-armament priority for government funding over army rearmament such as the Maginot Line.
