• Hypseus, a king of the Lapiths and son of the river god Peneus either by (1) the naiad Creusa,<ref>Diodorus Siculus, 4.69.1</ref> daughter of Gaia;<ref>Pindar, Pythian Odes 9.13 ff</ref> (2) Philyra, daughter of Asopus<ref>Scholia ad Pindar, Pythian Ode 9.27b with Achesandros as the authority</ref> or (3) Naïs.<ref>Scholia ad Pindar, Pythian Ode 9.27b with Pherecydes as the authority</ref> By the naiad Chlidanope<ref name=":0" /><ref>Template:Cite book</ref> he had four daughters: Cyrene,<ref>Callimachus, Hymn 2 to Apollo 85 ff; Diodorus Siculus, 4.81.1; Nonnus, 29.180</ref> Themisto,<ref>Apollodorus, 1.9.2</ref> Alcaea<ref name=":0">Scholia on Pindar, Pythian Ode 9.31</ref> and Astyagyia.<ref>Diodorus Siculus, 4.69.3</ref>
