Igors Vihrovs

Igors Vihrovs (born 6 June 1978) is a Latvian former artistic gymnast. He won the gold medal on the floor exercise at the 2000 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Olympic gold medalist for independent Latvia. He is the 2001 World Championships floor exercise bronze medalist.
Gymnastics career
Vihrovs competed at the 1997 World Championships and finished 23rd in the all-around final.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> He won a silver medal on the floor exercise at the 1999 Stuttgart World Cup, behind Russia's Alexei Nemov.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> He then won a gold medal on the floor exercise at the 2000 Ljubljana World Cup.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref>
Vihrovs represented Latvia at the 2000 Summer Olympics and qualified for the floor exercise final in fourth place with a score of 9.662. At the 2001 Summer Universiade, Vihrovs won the silver medal on the floor exercise behind China's Liang Fuliang.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> He then placed sixth in the floor exercise final at the 2001 Goodwill Games.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref> He went on to win the bronze medal in the floor exercise final at the 2001 World Championships, behind Marian Drăgulescu and Yordan Yovchev.
