James Daniel Gallagher CB FRSE<ref name="ox.ac.uk">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> is a Scottish civil servant.<ref name="bbc.com">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> He was Director General of devolution for the United Kingdom's Ministry of Justice from 2007 until 2010,<ref name="Committee2010">Template:Cite book</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> and served as Secretary to the Commission on Scottish Devolution.<ref name="Committee2011">Template:Cite book</ref><ref name="bbc.com"/> He joined Better Together in January 2014 as a strategy advisor.<ref name="bbc.com"/><ref name="ox.ac.uk"/>
He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2005 Birthday Honours.<ref>Template:London Gazette</ref>
