Korovin Volcano

Korovin Volcano is one of four volcanic centers of the Atka Volcanic Complex, located near the town of Atka on the northeast part of Atka Island in the Aleutian Islands chain, Alaska, United States.<ref name="AVO">Alaska Volcano Observatory, Volcano Information – Korovin, Retrieved Dec. 17, 2022.</ref> At Template:Convert, Korovin is the highest point on the island.<ref name="GVP">Smithsonian Institution, Global Volcanism Program – Atka Volcanic Complex, Retrieved Dec. 17, 2022.</ref>

Other cones of the Atka Volcanic Complex include Mount Kliuchef at Template:Convert, Konia Volcano at Template:Convert and Sarichef Volcano at Template:Convert along with the Atka Caldera located between Kliuchef and Sarichef.<ref name="AVO" /><ref name="VI">Alaska Volcano Observatory, Volcano Information (Main Page), Retrieved Dec. 17, 2022.</ref><ref name="GVP" /> Korovin is the most active of the four vents, but there have also been a couple historical eruptions attributed to nearby Kliuchef. Fumaroles and hydrothermal vents regularly steam from both peaks.<ref name="GVP" /> A short-lived explosion occurred from the summit crater lake of Korovin on March 27, 2024 with no reports of ash emission.<ref name="KOR24"> Alaska Volcano Observatory, Atka Volcanic Complex, Past Activity, Retrieved Apr. 21, 2024.</ref> A similar explosion happened on February 20, 2025.<ref name="KOR25">Alaska Volcano Observatory, Atka Volcanic Complex, Retrieved Feb. 22, 2025.</ref> There were also reports of recent eruptions at the volcano in 2002, 2004 and 2005 which are considered questionable.<ref name="AVO" /><ref name="GVP" />
