Lake Mainit is the fourth largest lake in the Philippines, having a surface area of Template:Convert.<ref name="lmda">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name="arcbc">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name="brit">Template:Cite encyclopedia</ref> The lake is also the deepest lake in the country with maximum depth reaching Template:Convert.<ref name="lmda"/><ref name="bimpeaga">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> It is located in the northeastern section of Mindanao and shared between the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Norte.
Etymology
