In recent years, it has been used as a shortened version of the name Liberty.
The name means my heart in Hebrew. It became popular in Israel due to a character in a series of novels for young teenagers by author Hadas Leibowitz and due to its use in the Israeli song Achoti Haktana or My Little Sister.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
