The population was 5 at the 2000 census. Maza was founded in 1893. History

Maza got its start when the railroadTemplate:Which was extended to that point.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> A post office was established at Maza in 1893, and remained in operation until 1964.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> The community most likely was named for its maize.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>
