Muhammad al-Zanati (Template:Langx Template:Transliteration; 1936/1937 – 26 May 2025) was a Libyan politician who was the General Secretary of the General People's Congress, and the head of state of Libya from 18 January 1992 until 3 March 2008. He was reappointed on 1 March 2000.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> He was of the Qadhadhfa branch of the Houara tribe.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> Az-Zanati died on 26 May 2025, at the age of 88.<ref>Template:Cite web</ref>
