Orión (rocket)
Template:About Template:Redirect2Orión was the designation of a sounding rocket family of Argentina,<ref name=":2" /> which was launched between 1965 and 1971 at CELPA (El Chamical), CELPA (Mar Chiquita), Tartagal and Wallops Island.<ref name=gunter>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
Developed by the Instituto de Investigaciones Aeronauticas y Espaciales (IIAE),<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> An Orión flight on August 13, 1966 that reached an apogee of 114 km, surpassing the Kármán line, made Argentina the first South American nation to launch a rocket into space.<ref name=":0">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
Orión-1
The first version Orión-1 was flown twice in 1965 and 1966 from CELPA (El Chamical),<ref name="gunter" /> in order to test the engines and technologies.
It had a length of Template:Cvt, a diameter of Template:Cvt and a weight of Template:Convert.<ref name=":1" /> Apogee was Template:Cvt for a Template:Convert payload.<ref name=":1">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> Solid fuel mass was Template:Convert with a burn time of 12 seconds.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

Orión-2
In November 1966, three tests of the updated Orión-2 took place from Wallops Island.<ref name=":2">Template:Cite book</ref><ref name="gunter" />
This version had a gross takeoff mass of Template:Cvt and could carry a Template:Convert payload to an apogee of Template:Cvt.<ref name="orion2" /> Its dimensions were Template:Cvt in length and Template:Cvt in diameter.<ref name="orion2">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
Orión-2 was launched 22 times from 1966 to 1971.<ref name="orion2" /><ref name="gunter" /> Besides Wallops, launch sites included CELPA (El Chamical), CELPA (Mar Chiquita) and Tartagal.<ref name="gunter" />
