It is a housing estate consisting of apartment buildings. It has an area of 1.4 km2, and in 2022, it had a population of 13,139 people. The neighbourhood was founded in 1974.

Prior to the Second World War, in the area was present the neighbourhood of Krzekoszów (Template:Langx), which no longer exists. It was located between Struga Street and railway tracks, with buildings alongside Botaniczna, Dąbska, Niedźwiedzia, and Zoologiczna Streets.<ref name=stary>Tadeusz Białecki, Lucyna Turek-Kwiatkowska: Szczecin stary i nowy. In 1974, in the area of Jasna, Rydla, Kostki Napierskiego, and Łubinowej Streets was developed a housing cooperative estate of 5- and 13-storey-tall apparent buildings, named Osiedle Słoneczne (lit. from Polish: Sunny Neighbourhood). It was designed by team of architects led by Romuald Cerebież-Tarabicki.<ref name=stary/><ref name=es>Encyklopedia Szczecina. Suplement 1. In 2001, at 105 Jasna Street, near the Runy Pond, was unvailed the Independence Memorial, a stainless steel sculpture, represented the past, presence, and future of Poland, and designed by Jerzy T. Government
Osiedle Słoneczne is one of the municipal neighbourhoods of Szczecin, governed by a locally elected council with 15 members. Its headquarters are located at 49 Rydla Street.<ref name=osiedle1/><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
The neighbourhood is located between Wiosenna, Łubinowa, and Przelotowa Streets, and the railway tracks of lines no. 401 and 417. It borders Bukowe-Klęskowo, Dąbie, Osiedle Majowe, and Zdroje.<ref name=osiedle1/> It has a total area of 1.4 km2.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
