S85 (Berlin)

S85 is a line on the Berlin S-Bahn.<ref name="s-bahn-berlin">S-Bahn Berlin GmbH – Linieninformation der Linie S85, www.s-bahn-berlin.de, accessed 30 Jan 10</ref> It operates from Grünau to Berlin-Pankow and Berlin-Frohnau over:
- the Berlin–Görlitz railway, opened on 13 September 1866 and electrified on 4 January 1929,
- the Ringbahn, opened on 17 July 1871 and electrified in 1926 and
- the Prussian Northern Railway, opened on 10 July 1877 and electrified in 1925.
Service history
The S85 was created on 2 June 1991, replacing the Brown route of the East Berlin S-Bahn between Buch and Spindlersfeld (via the eastern part of the Ringbahn).<ref name="db-20210609">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name="sbmap-1990">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
