Controversy
Plans to build an Template:Convert, Template:Convert information centre near the waterfall provoked controversy in Iceland in May 2017.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite news</ref><ref name=":1">Template:Cite news</ref> Opponents of the plans argued that the building would spoil the view of the waterfall and interrupt the natural look of the area.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":1" />
