The Republic of San Marino comprises nine Template:Lang (Template:Literal translation) as its first-level administrative divisions.<ref name="Elezioni" /> Each castle is led by a castle captain (Template:Langx) and a castle council (Template:Lang), elected every five years.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite web</ref>
