Gertrude "Trudi" Walend (June 25, 1943 – May 14, 2024) was an American politician who served as a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives who represented the 68th and 113th districts<ref name="Project Vote Smart Bio">Project Vote Smart Biography</ref><ref name="Campaign Bio">Campaign Website Experience Section</ref><ref name="1998 Elex">N.C. Board of Elections: 1998 General ElectionTemplate:Dead linkTemplate:Cbignore</ref><ref name="NCGA Bio">N.C. General Assembly Profile</ref><ref>N.C. Board of Elections: 1996 General Election Results|See 68th N.C. HouseTemplate:Dead linkTemplate:Cbignore</ref><ref name="Government2005">Template:Cite book</ref> (including constituents in Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties) from her election in 1998<ref name="1998 Elex" /> until her retirement in 2009. She was then appointed to the seat again in 2012 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Rep. W.
