New zealand cycling history

Have just changed it to make it more about the web site than the book. I'm one of the publishers so no copyvio. What does "Speedy would have been better" mean? Paul Kennett

• It means that Moriori feels a "speedy delete" procedure would have been more appropriate than a just-plain delete procedure. (Speedy deletes are for egregiously unsuitable pages.) If you're one of the copyright-holders Paul, include that info at the bottom of the article, in some such form as Text from X website, by permission. (At the bottom of one or two Wikipedia pages I've done it myself, when I cribbed from my own website, so that others would not come by and say ha-ha, copyvio.)

   As to the actual content of the page, though, I too vote Delete. You may consider a page on the actual cycling history of New Zealand, in which I think it would be alright to reference your own book, after all you're an expert in it; as long as you don't promote the book. — Bill 23:51, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)

• I've withdrawn my objection now its been wikified and is beginning to look like the start of a useful article on the topic. Should probably be renamed though to sort out the capitalisation of New Zealand and to fit with any other histories of cycling we may have for other countries. Lisiate 01:34, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
