Biography
Bronfman was born in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, and immigrated to Israel at the age of 15. He was born into a musical Jewish family. His father Naum Bronfman was a concertmaster of the municipal opera orchestra, his mother Pauline Bronfman was a pianist, and his older sister Elizabeth later became a violinist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> He became an American citizen in 1989.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
