Yoshiyuki Kamei was born on 30 April 1936.<ref name="Hatena">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}Template:User-generated source</ref>Template:User-generated source He graduated from Keio University in 1962.<ref name="Kantei">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

He was Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> in the cabinet of Junichiro Koizumi, before being replaced by Yoshinobu Shimamura. He had also previously served as Transport Minister under Ryutaro Hashimoto.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

Kamei died on 12 May 2006.<ref name="Japan Times">Template:Cite news</ref> He was 70.<ref name="Japan Times" />
