History

Founded in 1984 as a microelectronics unit of the Lohja Corporation,<ref name=early>History: The Early Years; 1984–1990 Template:Webarchive Elcoteq Official Site</ref> the company became independent in an early 1990s management buyout.<ref name=alone/>

It manufactured the ill-fated Microsoft Kin for Sharp Corporation in the late 2000s.<ref name=kin/>

Production base expansion
