This is a list of notable Azerbaijanis — speakers of the Azerbaijani language, a Turkic language with deep roots in indigenous Iranian (Median) and Caucasian populations and later Oghuz Turkic influence. They predominantly live in the Iranian provinces of East and West Azerbaijan; Republic of Azerbaijan; southern Dagestan and Georgia; and parts of eastern Turkey (notably the provinces of Kars and Iğdır).<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>Template:Citation</ref> {{#invoke:Hatnote|hatnote}}{{#ifeq:||}}
