Pérez is a very common Castilian Spanish surname of patronymic origin.

The surname, written in Spanish orthography as {{#invoke:Lang|lang}}, is a patronymic surname meaning "son of Pedro" ("Pero" in archaic Spanish), the Spanish equivalent of Peter.
