Ringwood East railway station is a commuter railway station on the Lilydale line, part of the Melbourne railway network. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ringwood East in Victoria, Australia. It opened on 18 May 1925, with the current station being provided in July 2024.<ref name="vicsigringwoodeast">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

History

In 1975, new ground-level station buildings were provided.<ref name="newsrailnov75">Template:Cite magazine</ref><ref name="newsraildec75">Template:Cite magazine</ref>

On 30 June 1984, an island platform was opened, as part of the duplication of the line between Ringwood and Croydon.<ref name="waugh">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name=vicsigringwoodeast/> In that same year, boom barriers were provided at the former Dublin Road level crossing, which was located in the up direction from the station.<ref name=waugh/><ref name="somersaultjan90">Template:Cite magazine</ref>

Under the Level Crossing Removal Project, the Dublin Road level crossing was grade separated, with the railway in a trench under the road,<ref name="lxrp1">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name="lxrp2">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref name="lxrp3">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> and the construction of a new station.<ref name=lxrp1/><ref name=lxrp2/> Work began in May 2023.<ref name="bigbuild1">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> The Dublin Road level crossing and old ground-level Ringwood East station were closed on 24 May 2024, and the new station opened to passengers on 8 July 2024.<ref name="bigbuild2">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

Ringwood East has two side platforms and is served by Lilydale line services.<ref>Template:Cite PTV route</ref> The station is in Myki ticketing Zone 2,<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> and is located between Railway Avenue and Patterson Street, Ringwood East. There are 330 car parking spaces.<ref name=vicsigringwoodeast/>
